Thursday, August 12 7 -9 pm: Mayan Calendar - Whay Does It Mean To Us? There has been much information flying around about the Mayan Calendar these days. Often, it is connected to the “supposed” end of time date of December 21, 2012. I find this most interesting because nowhere in the Maya Lands is that date even mentioned. Also, unlike many other calendars across the globe, the Mayan Calendar was not created based upon astronomy or astrology so how could it possibly have an end date based on the cycles of the moon and astrological alignments? If this is the case then what kind of calendar is the Mayan Calendar, why on earth was it created, and what does it have to do with us? Just let me say that the answers to these questions and many others will be answered in this class. And let me intrigue you a little by saying that the Mayan Calendar does indeed have an end point and it is not very far away. And this end point has everything to do with us, EVERYTHING, and, as you will discover in this class, it is in our best interest to learn about its meaning now.
